Altered Ancestors

These are my pages for the ATT (All Things Tim) Group. The swap is to make 11- 4x4 pages, altering your ancestor in anyway you see fit. The picture is of my grandpa Downs, it was perfect for adding wings and a crown. I used Tim's Flying Hearts Die, distress ink to ink all the edges, and one of Tim's ideology tags. I am really happy with the way it turned out.

So let me tell you a little about myself. I'm a crafting domestic goddess, who has 5 adopted children ranging in age from 12 years to 2 years, 4 boys and 1 poor stuck in the middle girl, but don't feel to sorry for her, she knows how to play the daddy's girl card quit well...lol I've been married to my wonderful and supportive husband for almost 25 years (come this September).

I've been paper crafting for several years, started off making cards at a local stamp camp, and have evolved since then. Since my kids are all adopted and most were adopted at an older age, I find that I do a lot of scrapbooking pages for them so when the get old they feel like they have a past. I still make cards, but really enjoy doing collages, ATC, and altering anything I can get my hands on. At this point my kids are afraid to sit still for the fear that I might break the modge podge out to use on them...lol.. I love all things vintage, grunge, steampunk and shabby chic. I'm very "shy" about my art but still try to put it out there for feedback so I can see where I can improve. So that's pretty much me in a nut shell. Thanks for sticking with me.

Charms for All Things Tim Swap

So for the All Things Tim group I join the Charm Swap. The rules were that the charm could be no bigger than 1 1/2 inches, had to be Tim inspired and use at least one of his products (ink didn't count) After several different attempts/versions this is what I came up with for mine. What do you think?

Tea Bag Swap ATC

These are the ATCs that I made for a Tea Bag Swap on a yahoo group called Artist Trading Cards. The goal for this swap was to use at least 1 part of a tea bag, but preferably more. This is how I created mine:

1. First I added 2 cups of water to a measuring cap and 6 tea bags, I heated in the microwave for 3 minutes.
2. Next I added the "brewed" tea to a squirt bottle (after allowing it to cool).
3. I thoroughly sprayed my white card stock allowing it to pool and set it aside to dry. (I lost patience and got out my heat gun to speed up the process).
4. I then took the leaves out of the tea bag and spread them all over my paper, making sure to press then down onto the paper really good, and allowed it to dry for a few minutes but not completely.
5. Next  I took so Modge Podge and coated my paper tea leaves and all.
6. After it was dried I cut the paper down to the standard 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 ATC size.
7. I cut out a tea pot off of the From My Kitchen cartage using my cricut (cut it at 2")
8. I used Vintage Photo distress embossing powered on the tea pot for some texture.
9. Then I took the tag from the packaging and tucked the string inside the tea pot lid.
10. I used the Tea Bag wrapper as part of the background, founded a Alice in Wonderland Tea Party scene (by search google) added it, and printed out the sentiment on my computer.
11. I then Modge Podge over then entire card to keep everything in it's place.
