My First Two Canvas Pieces

Today I'm posting my first attempts at altering a canvas. I'm pretty happy with both pieces, except I think the first one still needs something. I like the look of my second one much better though. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Hope you have a great day and remember get those fingers inky!

This was my first attempt at Altered Canvas

Much happier with this piece

  1. these are both lovely! i do vintage collages too! i'm guessing i've done around 150 in the last two years, i get stuck on a theme sometimes and just can't stop! *smile* nice work!

  2. Hhhhmmm...like them both, but I would have to agree on your comment about the 1st one. I think, if it were my canvas, I would "grunge up" the stark "pink colored" areas with a darker color. Kind of like a "wisped frame" type effect, using a darker hue of the main color, with perhaps a more "brown tone". (It's hard to see what the true color is..it almost looks like a mauve color). I say that tentatively, cuz if it were my canvas, I would be afraid that I would mess it up!! You go girl...I have yet to work on canvases...but, I'm "that close" to just jumping into it!! 4. Both lovely and I agree with you, I particularly like the second one: More layers and overlapping. On the first one there is more background coming through. I don't do so much of this type of art so, after you asked for input on ATT, it's good for me to look and learn. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Great job on both. They are 2 types of art, and I agree, my fav is #2. You are more brave than I am, to do canvas, and also show the group!

Thanks for sharing, you did such a good job.
